Good day Captains of
Commerce!
We have been asked to present a
“wish list” to our friends at Kaysinger Basin Project to identify some of the
transportation projects that would benefit our community. To stir your
imagination ponder this…If you were awarded 100 million dollars to spend any way
you wish as long as it is associated with the following categories; Bicycles
& Trails, Freight, Rail, Air, and Transit…How would you spend the money?
Here’s my example. I've had a vision of sidewalks on Highway 54 from First
Street to Highway 32, and sidewalks from the public school to the hospital via
Park Street which also includes a crosswalk at highway 54. What other projects
would we like to see in our community?
A one cent transportation tax
will be on the ballot later this year. If that passes they will be looking at
how best to allot the money to El Dorado Springs and/or Stockton and in the
area.
If you have any ideas,
please let us know your thoughts by the end of this
week.
